Don Amor:

On the first grading period we learned the basics of C programming. This includes statements such as printf, scanf and other things concerning C program. This grading however is another step to more complex programs. We learned about condition statements such as IF, ELSE and ELSE IF statements. It allows the user to input values and operations for a given condition. Another one is the looping statements such as FOR, DO, DO WHILE and WHILE statements. It allows the user to be able to repeat certain tasks and even programs in one repeatable program. This subject is getting more exciting! Thanks to our understanding teacher Mrs. Gallardo, without her would not even know C program!

Jojie Ann Alabarca:

The days passed very fast. (uhmm....sounds like a tongue twister!) It's true, I didn't even notice that vacation is already there. I mean the school year is about to end and also our third year computer science class. How sad...(plastic, hehehe).
Well, I've learned a lot in C Programming now although I'm not really good in it. At least I've tried my best to get a good grade in CS. I had my new group mates and all of us are trying to get the program right every time we had our hands on. We really had a good time together even though sometimes we did not get the program. I really enjoyed CS class because of our very good but boastful teacher. Well, she admit it.
My grade in 2nd grading really depressed me. I got failing score in our periodic exam just because of not following directions.I am supposed to pass the exam but I failed. As a result, my grade in card became 85 from 87.Instead of working hard again for third grading, it seems I didn't like to study anymore. Unexpectedly, I was approved in a scholarship by MaSci Alumni. Unbelievable? I know it's really unbelievable that I am a scholar! As a scholar I have to maintain my grades in all Math and Science subjects not lower than 87. CS is a math add on subject and it was the only subject I failed to get at least 87. They did no t slashed my scholarship but they decreased the amount of money I'm supposed to receive by P1000. It's a big amount of money for us that I lost but I'm not blaming anybody. As a matter of fact, I made it th reason for me to work harder.
On the third periodic test, I still got low score but at least a better score and that depressed me again. I thought that I don't have any future in CS. When Mam Calamiong showed un our grades and saw my grade in CS - it's 87! I'm so happy even if that is the lowest to my grades at least I improve. That makes me entusiastic to CS class again. I hope that would get a line of 9 this fourth grading so that all of my grades in card would be line of 90+. That would be a great achievement for me.

Mark Bayona:

Journal in Computer Science

I am happy to know that as the ending of classes fast approaches I have seen really a great improvement on my grade. Imagine from 87 to 86 to remarkably 91, well that is really a big difference, that’s a matter of 5 points. I am really jubilant for I know that I am not a worthless student and I can see that I am improving for the better and not getting worse. I think the topics we took up last grading period was really such an interesting one it was also not that hard compared to other lessons. Moreover, I have observed that my attitude really has changed and my study habit has been enhanced. Whenever that we are going to have a test I make it appoint that I have reviewed my lessons and really studied hard. I was really happy in the outcome of our practical summative test. I got a score which is almost perfect, an amazing 9, but unfortunately I made a minor mistake in declaring my variable. Supposedly it should be declared as a float type but I made it the other way and declared it as an integer type and it was a big mistake for we are talking about money so it is right to see the decimals in the answer. In the summative test that we had I also got a high score. Really if you are putting effort to any endeavor you’ll really get paid off it as the saying goes, “What you sow so shall you reap”. In the periodic test I also got a high score so I was happy again. In our hands-on I am also pleased that our group has really a great cooperation and everyone is working hand in hand. We always finish our task in time. Also, there is a group discussion and sharing of ideas that makes our group stand-out than the other. The project given to us by Ms. Gallardo was really a challenging one. For me, it really tested my patience, ingenuity and witty mind to create the program. Although there were a lot of revisions done by our group at last we finally learned how to use and insert the kbhit in our program. Of course, we were happy to finish our project on time and pass it presentable to maam. It is actually gratifying and worthwhile to work on a thing which is hard to achieve because if you got able to triumph over it at last it feels more satisfying than doing a painless and undemanding job. As a whole, I am really glad about how my third grading and half of my fourth grading was spent about except to fact that there were a lot of school activities that we had the past few months and the bad thing is that our Computer Science subject was taken for granted. I know that it was not intentionally done that during there is an activity in school our CS class is being sacrificed due to time constraint. Given more time for CS I think I might have enjoyed this subject more than I overwhelmingly take pleasure of it know. Besides, we have a good and dedicated teacher that is always there to impart all her knowledge. Maam I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the effort you have exerted to our section, Mendel, even though sometimes or even most of the time we do not meet all of your expectations. Maam you made me aspire to be one of you someday. Again, thank you very much.
